Kana Ogawa is a Honolulu-based painter from Chiba, Japan. Ogawa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa in 2017. Since then she has been showing at exhibitions including, Hawaiʻi Pacific University, Honolulu Museum of Art School, and Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design.

Ogawa is interested in finding merging perspectives and discovering her vulnerability through the lens of a third culture kid. From exploring cultural and personal identity, Ogawa’s journey into spirituality has broadened her practice as a creative. The painting on display is one of my recent works derived from an interest in the state of unified darkness and lightness within the non-physical world. The work was created in a deep valley, in a quiet space that promoted solitude. This series highlights the feeling in stillness.
